Hall Four of the SECC provided the perfect space for creative
and imaginative room sets and showcases plus hands-on workshops
which added value for visitors at the Homes & Interiors
Scotland Exhibition.
Once every year, the glossy, ultra-stylish pages of Homes &
Interiors Scotland are brought to life in an exhibition. The Homes
& Interiors Scotland Exhibition is a key date in the diaries of
Scotland's design savvy consumers- and 2008's exhibition at the
SECC was bigger and better than ever.
The exhibition switched to Hall Four (SECC's largest hall) for
the first time last year- giving the organisers a greater amount of
space than ever before. Susan White, of Peebles Media (owners of
Homes & Interiors Scotland) explains:
"The space in Hall Four allows us to be creative with expansion
and development. The attractions have to be fresh each year. For
example, last year the cream of Scotland's interior designers
collaborated to present their work in a unique Interior Design
Showcase which was phenomenally successful. We were also able to
work with the venue to create a champagne bar - a spectacularly
classy area for our visitors to enjoy. These innovations, combined
with an improved catering provision in 2008, encouraged visitors to
spend longer at the exhibition."
An array of hands-on and imaginative added extras makes the
exhibition a complete day out for visitors. Mood Flowers, one of
the Scotland's most fashionable florists, brought some of their
trademark workshops to the show - giving visitors ideas (and
skills) to replicate cool floral arrangements at home. Martin
Wishart, the Michelin starred Scottish chef, carried out cooking
demos, giving visitors a taster of his culinary flair. There was
also an Editor's Choice International Design Salon which showcased
the editor's pick of the cream of international design
Susan adds; "It's been ideal for us to have increased space plus
an extra day as exhibitors invest a great deal to come to the show
and this gives them more time and space to make the most of
exhibiting. The SECC has been involved with the show since its
inception and has provided guidance as the show has grown and
developed."
Susan explains why the SECC is the venue of choice for Homes
& Interiors Scotland Exhibition: "The SECC is the highest
profile exhibition venue in Scotland. Also, being just off the M8
with great transport links, it is very conveniently located which
is essential for an event with a pan-Scottish appeal.
"A key thing for us though is that the SECC team is just so
helpful, very professional and very knowledgeable- crucial in
helping us deliver an event where every detail counts."
